Sam Bourne
Sam Bourne is the pen name of the British journalist Jonathan Freedland. He intended to distinguish his work in fiction from his journalism. Freedland is credited on the copyright page as the author of the thriller The Righteous Men(2006), The Last Testament (2007), and The Final Reckoning (2008).
The story of Righteous Men is about a half-British news reporter, Will Monroe (Jr), Jewish Occult Mysticism, Kabbala, Hasidic Judaism , and the nefarious Chirstian sect known as Church of the Reborn Jesus.
I recommend The Righteous Men as it is crafty well paced novel which keeps you gripped till the last page. This is a solid work of fiction with interesting and vivid characters. There are more than a few gripping moments and I admit to being sucked into the world of Will Monroe and Jewish folklore quite easily. The ending wasn't quite as satisfying as I'd hoped with some less than surprising revelations involving Will's immediate family. It's certainly not the greatest read of all time, but I enjoyed it a whole lot more than I expected! Give it a go. There's more enjoyment on offer here than disappointment.
