C21

C21 was a Danish boy band consisting of three key members: Søren Bregendal (vocals, lyricist, producer and keyboards), Esben Duus (vocals, lyricist and guitar), and David Pepke (vocals, lyricist and guitar). The band has sold more than 40,000 copies in their native country Denmark, and more than 250,000 copies in Asia.

The band was formed in 1998 when Danish music producer Lars Quang heard Søren Bregendal singing in the locker room after his son's soccer game. Quang invited Søren Brengedal to his studio to test his vocals. Søren brought his fellow school friend, Esben Duus to the studio. At a warm up gig at a birthday party, the two met fellow musician David Pepke and the trio was formed.

Their 2003 debut album C21 was the most successful Danish boy band debut album in Denmark. The first single, "Stuck in My Heart", was released on September 16, 2002 as the breakthrough single for the group and became popular in South-East Asia (namely Thailand). Further singles included "You Are the One" and "She Cries". The fourth single, "One Night in Bangkok", was released on September 29, 2003. The song was originally done by Murray Head in 1984.

C21's second album Listen was also their last. Released on May 24, 2004, two singles was released off the album, with "All That I Want" entering the Danish singles chart at #6 on April 30, 2004.

In March 2005 Esben Duus left the band, and during the recording of the third album, the remaining members Bregendal and Pepke decided to split, with Søren Bregendal pursuing a solo music and acting career.

Rob Thomas

Robert Kelly "Rob" Thomas is an American rock recording artist and songwriter. He is the primary songwriter and lead singer of the band Matchbox Twenty and formerly of the band Tabitha's Secret. Thomas also records and performs as a solo artist. Thomas earned three Grammy awards for co-writing and singing on the Carlos Santana triple-platinum hit "Smooth", on the album Supernatural in 1999.

He has also lent his songwriting talents to such artists as Willie Nelson, Mick Jagger, Marc Anthony, Pat Green, Taylor Hicks, Travis Tritt and Daughtry.

Since 1996, his band has released a string of hit singles to radio including "Push", "3 A.M.", "Real World", "Back 2 Good", "Bent", "If You're Gone", "Mad Season", "Disease", "Unwell", "Bright Lights", and "How Far We've Come". In 2004, the Songwriters Hall of Fame awarded Thomas its first Starlight Award, recognizing young songwriters who have already had a lasting influence in the music industry.

Rob also made a Guest Appearance playing himself and with Sinbad (entertainer) on the show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia in the episode entitle "Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life" season 4 episode 9. He is a frequent guest on Real Time with Bill Maher.

Basshunter

Jonas Erik Altberg is better known by the pseudonym Basshunter, is a Swedish producer and singer-songwriter. Altberg describes his style of music as Eurodance. He competed in Celebrity Big Brother, during January 2010 in the United Kingdom.He started to produce music under the stage name "Basshunter" in 2002 with the computer program Fruity Loops, and released his first albums, The Old Shit (2002) and The Bassmachine (2004), through his own web site, and began working as a DJ. In April 2006, he signed with Warner Music, releasing his first single, "Boten Anna". In 2007, Altberg released a recording titled "Now You're Gone", featuring entirely rewritten lyrics to appeal to a foreign market. The song charted at number one on the UK Singles Chart and stayed there for 5 weeks.

Babyface

Kenneth Brian "Babyface" Edmonds is an American R&B and pop singer, songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist, record producer, film producer, and entrepreneur. Edmonds later played with funk performer Bootsy Collins, who tagged him "Babyface" while he was still a teen. He also played in the groups Manchild (which had a 1977 hit "Especially for You" with band member Daryl Simmons), as he was a guitarist for the band. Then, as a keyboardist in the light-funk and R&B group The Deele (which also included drummer Antonio "L.A." Reid, with whom he would later form a successful writing and producing partnership). One of his first major credits as a songwriter for outside artists came when he wrote the tune "Slow-Jam" for the R&B band Midnight Star in 1983. The tune was on Midnight Star's double-platinum No Parking on the Dance Floor album, and while it never hit the charts, the song is still played on quiet storm shows. Babyface remained in The Deele until 1988, when both he and Reid left the group.

Matt Nathanson

Matt Nathanson was born on March 28 in 1973. He is an American singer-songwriter whose work is a blend of folk and rock music. In addition to singing, he plays acoustic (usually a twelve-string) and electric guitar, and has played both solo and with a full band. He is perhaps best known for his platinum-selling song "Come On Get Higher", as well as his comedic personality.

The members of his band have changed over the past years. Among others, he has been accompanied by Aben Eubanks on guitar, keys and vocals, but later replaced by Aaron Tap. John Thomasson has been his bassist since 2004. Jason McKenzie was on drums until Fall 2006; Nick Amoroso on two tours from Fall 2007 through Winter 2008. His current drummer is Konrad Meissner. Before 2005, Nathanson was often accompanied by cellist Matt Fish. Matt is currently working on his eighth CD, which the details of are yet unknown

Good Charlotte

Good Charlotte is an American pop punk band from Waldorf, Maryland that formed in 1995. They took their name from the children's book called "Good Charlotte: The Girls of Good Day Orphanage," written by Carol Beach York.Good Charlotte's first self-titled album was released in 2000 and was the very start of Good Charlotte's music career. The album contains only one single; "Little Things".

2002's The Young and the Hopeless marked the band's music into mainstream popularity. Their breakthrough single, titled "Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous", topped both pop and rock charts around the globe, The album eventually went on to receive triple platinum certification (three million copies sold) from the RIAA.During the course of the album's success, Good Charlotte landed appearances on Saturday Night Live, CNN, and The Today Show, the covers of Rolling Stone and Alternative Press magazines, and were also featured in The New York Times. They also became popular on MTV, where their music videos were played in heavy rotation on both MTV and MTV2. "Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous" received the "Viewers Choice Award" at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.

Good Charlotte's third album, The Chronicles of Life and Death, was released by Blake face in 2004. The album received mixed reactions from both the music press and Good Charlotte's fan base. Good Morning Revival is the fourth album by Good Charlotte and the follow up to 2004's The Chronicles of Life and Death. It was officially released in March 2007, with the precise date varying by country.Good Charlotte is currently in the studio recording their fifth studio album.

Five for Fighting

Five for Fighting is the stage name of American singer-songwriter John Ondrasik. His 2000 album America Town went Platinum in the U.S. largely because of the success of the song "Superman (It's Not Easy)". The 2004 album The Battle for Everything was also certified Platinum, mainly due to the hit single "100 Years" and the consistent sales of the album. Ondrasik has also released a DualDisc of his 2004 album which has one side containing The Battle for Everything in its entirety and the other side being a DVD containing bonus footage and Five For Fighting music videos. Five for Fighting's fourth album, Two Lights, was released on August 1, 2006, and earned Ondrasik his first career Top 10 Album, debuting at #8 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. Five for Fighting's fifth album, Slice, was released on October 13, 2009.

Flyleaf

Flyleaf is an American rock band, formed in the Belton and Temple, Texas regions in 2000. They performed around the United States in 2003 until releasing their eponymous debut album, Flyleaf, in 2005. The album went platinum after selling more than one million copies. The band won an online poll on yahoo.com and was named Yahoo!'s Who's Next band of the month in March 2006 and they were named MTV's artist of the week on December 24, 2007. Flyleaf released their second album Memento Mori on November 10, 2009.

Bleeding Through

Bleeding Through is an American metalcore band from Orange County, California, formed in 1999. The band blends influences stemming from modern hardcore, symphonic (black) metal, and melodic death metal. Although the band is often labeled as simply metalcore, when Brandan Schieppati was asked if he considers Bleeding Through a hardcore band, he said: "I think we're a hardcore band and I'll never say we are a metal band, we're all hardcore kids and we came from the hardcore scene. Ours is just a different version of hardcore, we're trying to do something which adds a different variety to the hardcore scene, which has been sounding the same way for so long."

Bleeding Through, a straight edge metalcore/death metal band, was formed in 1999 in Woodlake, California.The band's roots can be traced back to 1998, when Breakneck was founded by Brandan 'Sheep' Schieppati (Eighteen Visions / Throwdown), Javier Van Huss (Eighteen Visions / The Mistake / Enewetak), guitarist Scott Danough, bass guitarist Chad Tafolla and drummer Troy Born (Taken).They made their live debut as the supporting act to Throwdown and Adamantium. As the band witnessed lineup changes, the departure of Van Huss and subsequent recruitment of Marc Jackson (Throwdown / Cold War) to cover bass whilst Tafolla reverted to guitar, they decided to expand their current hardcore sound and added elements of death metal to their music. origin of the band's name was explained in an interview as follows: "Well, it is summed up by the explanation that whether black, white, red, brown, yellow, religious preference, straight or gay, we all bleed the same, and we bleed through this life the same. Thus Bleeding Through."

JLS

JLS (an initialism of Jack the Lad Swing) are a British boyband, who were runners-up in the fifth series of ITV reality talent show The X Factor in 2008, coming second to Alexandra Burke. The group consists of Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan "JB" Gill, and Oritsé Williams.

Following their appearances on The X Factor, JLS signed to Epic Records, and enjoyed continued chart success throughout 2009. Their debut single "Beat Again" went to number-one in the UK Singles Chart on 19 July 2009, while their second single "Everybody in Love", which was released on 2 November 2009, topped the UK Singles Chart too.[4] The band's eponymous debut album was released on 9 November 2009, and has since gone triple Platinum, with sales of over one million copies in the UK alone. JLS won the awards for British Breakthrough and British Single ("Beat Again") at the 2010 BRIT Awards.

Elbow

Elbow are a British alternative rock band. Members of the band first played together in 1990 at The Corner Pin pub in Ramsbottom, Bury, a borough of Greater Manchester. The band currently retain their original line-up of lead vocalist and lyricist Guy Garvey, guitarist Mark Potter, keyboardist Craig Potter, bassist Pete Turner and drummer Richard Jupp. Over the band's 12-year career they have released four studio albums, four EPs and ten top fifty singles in the UK. The band is named after a line in the BBC TV mini-series The Singing Detective; a character (Philip Marlow) says that the word "elbow" is the most sensuous word in the English language, not for its definition, but for how it feels to say it.

Acclaimed for their innovative sound and front-man Guy Garvey's evocative candid lyrics, Elbow have received vast critical acclaim and been endorsed by major artists Radiohead, Coldplay, Blur, R.E.M. and U2 despite minor commercial success during much of their career. The Velvet Underground's co-founder John Cale selected Elbow's "Switching Off" as one of his eight chosen records on the BBC's Desert Island Discs radio programme. The band won the 2008 Mercury Music Prize for their fourth album, The Seldom Seen Kid.

BRITS 2010

For three decades, the Brit awards have entertained the masses with fluffs, gaffes, pranks and waggled bums, while gathering the great and good of the music industry for an evening of back-slapping and recognition of the year's achievements.

But at tonight's 30th anniversary event, the show was stolen by an American as Lady Gaga took home three awards, more than any other artist. The flamboyant artist – born Stefani Germanotta – was named best international female solo artist, best international breakthrough act and best international album for The Fame.

And while the night may have been billed as the "battle of the babes" by many, with female artists giving a strong showing in the nominations, there was also a distinctly masculine feel to the honours, with rock band Kasabian and boy band JLS all taking home awards.

Meanwhile while Florence and the Machine won best British album for Lungs and rapper Dizzee Rascal was named best British male solo artist.




Leicester rockers Kasabian won best British band, while JLS picked up breakthrough act.

At the glittering event hosted by comedian Peter Kay in London's Earl's Court, all eyes were on the American exhibitionist, hotly tipped by bookies since winning two Grammys last month.

After scoring four number ones with her debut album, Gaga was lauded as the new queen of pop with the industry queuing to lay accolades at her feet.

Past outlandish displays from the American have included full facial masks, exploding bras and pyrotechnics. Last night's performance was met with rapturous applause.

Lily Allen also overcame a disappointing night back in 2007, when she was nominated for four awards, but won none. Despite stiff competition from Florence Welch, frontwoman for Florence and the Machine, and newcomer Pixie Lott, she took home the award for British female solo act. Her second album It's Not Me, It's You came out in February last year, after her debut Alright Still sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide.

There was joy for Dizzee Rascal, credited with bring grime music to the mainstream, after he took home the award for best British male solo artist.

Rascal, the only artist on an independent label – his own – burst onto the scene after winning the Mercury music prize in 2003 for his debut Boy in da Corner. But with his latest album, Tongue N' Cheek, he established himself as a household name, and as a star, with three singles released from the album – Dance Wiv Me, Bonkers and Holiday – all reaching the top chart slot.

The ever-exuberant rapper took to the stage tonight to perform a much-anticipated duet with Florence Welch, dressed in a suitably spangly silver mini dress. The unlikely pair launched themselves into a mash-up of two of their best-known songs – You Got the Love and Dirtee Cash – to produce You Got the Dirtee Love.

The inexorable rise of Jay-Z continued, as he took home the award for best international male solo artist. The rapper – who performed to screaming adulation with Alicia Keys – became the most successful solo artist in the history of the US Billboard chart, after his 11th album, Blueprint 3, went to number one, surpassing Elvis Presley's record.

The power of the reality TV format, which last year propelled Susan Boyle to stratospheric heights, was again evident as the teen favourites JLS – runners-up in the fifth series of the X Factor in 2008 – won best British breakthrough act.

Capitalising on the hysterical fervour of their fans, the band – described by Kay as "a black, all-male version of Bucks Fizz" – took home best British single. Beat Again, which went straight to the top spot in the charts last summer, was voted for by thousands of radio listeners.

It fell to Liam Gallagher to provide some unscripted drama, however, after taking to the stage, minus brother Noel, to accept Oasis's award for the Brits album of 30 years for their record (What's the Story) Morning Glory?

After thanking a series of people – pointedly not including his sibling – he told the crowd: "Listen kids … the best bands in the fucking world live forever," before hurling a microphone into the audience. As he left, Kay remarked: "What a knobhead."

The industry was tonight hoping that exposure to a prime-time audience would boost album sales, with an award thought to add in the region of £4m to any album sales. The BPI, which organises the event, said the drop was softened to a degree by the growth of digital album sales which now account for 12.5% of the market, and saw a 56.1% increase last year.

The crowning glory of the evening, the award for outstanding contribution, went to Brits darling Robbie Williams, who closed the show. The former Take That star – who has won more Brit awards than any other artist – took home his 16th award after more than 20 years in the business, saying: "I feel like it's my birthday, I feel special, it's lovely, whether people think it or not in my head I'm going, 'brilliant!'"

He celebrated his winning run with a triumphant performance, cementing a comeback that started in October.

In a nod to the 30 years' worth of performances that have seen Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood bamboozled by a stuck autocue, Robbie Williams offering to fight Liam Gallagher and John Prescott soaked by Chumbawumba, Brits fans were asked to vote for their top performance of the past three decades.

The honour, given by Sam Fox, went to the Spice Girls' performance of Wannabe in 1997 ‑ helped, one imagines, by the enduring image of Geri Halliwell in a Union flag dress.

Halliwell looked much more demure for last night's celebration. As Fox took to the stage, she worried she may make another mistake. "I'd best do it right, or you'll hold it against me for the next 20 years," she said.

Story of the Year

Story of the Year is an American rock band formed in St. Louis, Missouri in 1995. The band was initially named Big Blue Monkey, they changed their name to Story of the Year in 2002 after the release of their EP titled Story of the Year on the indie label Criterion Records when they realized a blues group of the same name had already existed. It would not be until eight years after forming that Story of the Year saw its first piece of commercial success in its major label debut, Page Avenue, containing the popular singles "Until the Day I Die" and "Anthem of Our Dying Day". A second album, In the Wake of Determination, followed in 2005, but did not achieve the success of its predecessor. The band released their third album, The Black Swan, on April 22, 2008, which was their first release on Epitaph Records, followed by 2010's The Constant.

Jesse McCartney

Jesse Arthur McCartney was born on April 9 in 1987. He is a singer-songwriter actor, and voice actor. McCartney rose to fame in the early 2000s as member of the boy band Dream Street. He branched into a solo career, having appeared in the television series Summerland and as a recurring character in the ABC Family series Greek.

In 1999, McCartney joined the American pop boy band Dream Street, and was a member until 2002. Jesse McCartney has described the experience as a good "stepping stone" for his solo career. The group earned a gold record with their debut CD, and broke up while touring with Aaron Carter. At fifteen, he began work on a solo career with a local band, featuring musicians Dillon Kondor (guitar), Peter Chema (bass), Katie Spencer (keyboards), Alex Russeku (drums), Karina LaGravinese (background vocals), Sharisse Francisco (background vocals), and under the management of Ginger McCartney and Sherry Goffin Kondor, who co-produced his first album, Beautiful Soul.

McCartney released his first solo EP in July 2004. The album featured two songs: "Beautiful Soul","Why Don't You Kiss Her". In 2004, he performed a duet with Anne Hathaway, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", which is featured on the Ella Enchanted soundtrack.

Jason Derülo

Jason Derülo was born Jason Desrouleaux in September 21, 1989. He is an American singer, songwriter, actor and dancer.

After producing records for several artists and writing songs for Cash Money Records, co-founder of the label Birdman, Young Money Entertainment owner Lil Wayne and rapper Diddy, Derülo signed to minor recording label Beluga Heights. After Beluga Heights became part of the Warner Music Group, Derülo released his debut single, "Whatcha Say" in May 2009. The song became a huge digital hit, selling over 2 million digital downloads, gaining an RIAA certification of 2x platinum, and reaching #1 in the US and several other countries. Derülo released his second single, "In My Head", in December 2009. His debut album, Jason Derülo, was released in 2010.

Gorillaz

Gorillaz are a British virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn of Britpop band Blur, and Jamie Hewlett, co-creator of the comic book Tank Girl. The band is composed of four animated band members: 2D (lead vocalist, keyboard), Murdoc Niccals (bass guitar), Noodle (lead guitar and occasional vocals) and Russel Hobbs (drums and percussion). The band's music is a collaboration between various musicians, Albarn being the only permanent musical contributor. Their style is a composition of multiple musical genres, with a large number of their influences including: dub, hip hop, alternative rock, electronic and pop music.

The band's eponymous debut album, released in 2001, sold over seven million copies and earned them an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the Most Successful Virtual Band. It was nominated for the Mercury Prize 2001, but the nomination was later withdrawn at the band's request. Their second studio album, Demon Days, was released in 2005 and included the singles "Feel Good Inc.", "Dare", "Dirty Harry" and "Kids with Guns"/"El Mañana". Demon Days went five times platinum in the UK, double platinum in the United States and earned five Grammy Award nominations for 2006 and won one of them in the Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals category.Gorillaz have also released two B-sides compilations and a remix album. Papa Roach

Papa Roach is a four-piece rock band from Vacaville, California. Their first major-label release was the triple-platinum debut album Infest (2000). The group's success continued with their gold album Lovehatetragedy (2002), their platinum album Getting Away with Murder (2004) and The Paramour Sessions (2006). Their latest album, Metamorphosis, was released on March 24, 2009.

In 1994, Papa Roach released their first ever EP titled Potatoes for Christmas. In 1998, they released an EP titled 5 Tracks Deep. It sold more than 1,000 copies in its first month of release. In 1999, they produced another EP, which would end up being their last independent release, titled Let 'Em Know. This was seen to be Papa Roach's best independent effort as a band, highlighting their distinctive sound. Its success caught the attention of Warner Music Group, who financed the production of a 5 track promo/demo CD. The unreleased disc included the songs "Infest", "Last Resort", "Broken Home", "Dead Cell", and "She Loves Me Not" - the first four would later feature on their Infest album, and the last on Lovehatetragedy. In the end, Warner Brothers elected not to sign them, based on a perceived lack of talent presented in their earlier musical efforts. Soon after, Shaddix was contacted by DreamWorks Records offering the band a recording contract.

After signing with DreamWorks Records in October 1999, they immediately hit the studio to record their debut major-label album titled Infest.nfest was released on April 25, 2000, and sold 30,000 copies in its first week of release. With their debut album released, and the music video for "Last Resort" recorded, they hit the Vans Warped Tour and numerous other large tours.In late 2000, they even toured the United Kingdom, highlighting how quickly their popularity had spread worldwide. In 2001, the band toured Ozzfest, where they performed on the prestigious main stage, on both the United States and United Kingdom tours.

Jet a rock band from Melbourne, Australia composed of Cameron Muncey, Mark Wilson, and brothers Nic and Chris Cester.The group has sold 4 million records worldwide; with their debut album Get Born, released in 2003, accounting for about 3.5 millionof that figure.

In 2002 the band, consisting of its current members, released the Dirty Sweet EP. While the band only pressed 1,000 copies, there was such a demand that they pressed 1,000 more.

Jet entered the Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles with Dave Sardy to produce their debut album Get Born in 2003. Sardy had previously produced records for Marilyn Manson and The Dandy Warhols. They also enlisted the services of keyboard maestro Billy Preston for two of the songs. Their singles "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" and "Rollover DJ" were voted number one and number nineteen respectively on the 2003 Triple J Hottest 100. Vampire Weekend

Vampire Weekend is an American indie rock band from New York City, formed in 2006 and signed to XL Recordings. n 2007, Vampire Weekend's song "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa" was ranked 67th on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of the year. In November 2007, they toured the United Kingdom with The Shins.They were declared "The Year's Best New Band" by Spin magazine in the March 2008 issue, and were the first band to be shot for the cover of the magazine before releasing their debut album.

The band's debut album Vampire Weekend was released January 29, 2008. It was a success in the US and UK, peaking at number 15 on the UK Albums Chart and number 17 on the Billboard 200. Four singles were released from the album; while "A-Punk" peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart and number 55 on the UK Singles Chart, "Oxford Comma" peaked at number 38 in the UK. "A-Punk" was ranked the 4th best song in 2008 on Rolling Stone's list of Best songs in 2008. "A- Punk" was also used to open the Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly feature Step Brothers. The song is also featured in the hit UK television show, The Inbetweeners. In 2008, Vampire Weekend was dubbed the "whitest band" by Christian Lander, the creator of the site Stuff White People Like, in an interview with Salon.com. During the summer of 2008, Vampire Weekend performed at the Central Park SummerStage in Manhattan and a fundraiser for Music for Democracy in October, where they shared the stage with David Crosby and Graham Nash. In December 2008, Vampire Weekend's debut album was #2 in Under The Radar magazine's "top 50 albums of 2008" issue. In the January 2009 issue of Rolling Stone magazine, their self-titled album was dubbed the 10th best album of 2008. Their song "Ottoman" was used during the credits of the 2008 film Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. Two tracks from their debut record also appeared in the 2009 comedy I Love You, Man.

Usher- Raymond vs Raymond

So Usher's 6th album Raymond vs. Raymond is finally here after almost a year of push backs. The diamond selling artist has yet to garner any huge buzz or even get any of the 3 singles he has released in the Top 40. Pretty rough, considering that every 1st single he has since the My Way album have been #1 hits. After his last album tanked and lukewarm reception of his latest ventures, the question in the back of everybody's mind is Usher over? I pretty much got the answer after listening to the new album.
I know I bashed the album as each song leaked, but as a whole I enjoyed the album. The standout tracks are of course Little Freak (mad he put the edited version on here), Monstar, & There Goes My Baby. The album flows very nicely aside from an occasional slip like the Will.i.am produced OMG, which sound like a horrible Black Eye Peas left over, and so many girls which sounds even more dated then the rest of the album. And there lies his problem. Usher peaked at 8701, his music and sound haven't evolved since then. Even though the last two projects were solid they fell into the generic r&b category. And about time he put out Here I Stand he already had a replacement, Chris Brown. And that's the same problem he's facing now, Trey Songz. Trey has the generic r&b lovers on lock and no one is paying Mr. Raymond any attention.
So is it a wrap for Usher? No. Will he ever have the success of My Way, 8701 or Confessions again? No. But he will continue to keep his urban fans happy. Usher, like many of his peers failed to grow from heart throb into man hood.
If you enjoyed Here I Stand you will enjoy this solid effort. Its the same bland formula, nice love ballads, decent dance tracks, nothing single material.

For years Usher has been named by his fans, critics, and peers as the successor to Michael Jackson as the new King of Pop. On several occasions Usher has stated Michael Jackson to be the biggest influence of his career. Despite being named the new King of Pop, Usher has stated that in his eyes there will never be another King of Pop. He also said that he wouldn't be who he is today without Michael Jackson. In February of 2010 when asked who he thought would fill Michael Jackson's place as the King of Pop Jay-Z stated he thought Usher would become the new King of Pop and said that he thought Usher's tribute to Michael Jackson was fantastic.

Aside from recording, Usher ventured in to other business. He had established his own record label, US Records, and is a part owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers franchise. Usher was also instrumental in starting and continuing the career of teen singer Justin Bieber. He has also been appearing in films, debuting in the 1998 film The Faculty. While also starring in Light It Up and In the Mix.

Jars Of Clay

Jars of Clay is a Christian rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. They met at Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois.

Jars of Clay consists of Dan Haseltine on vocals, Charlie Lowell on piano and keyboards, Stephen Mason on lead guitars and Matthew Odmark on rhythm guitars. Although the band has no permanent drummer or bassist, Jeremy Lutito and Gabe Ruschival of Disappointed By Candy fill these roles for live concerts. Past tour band members include Aaron Sands, Scott Savage, and Joe Porter. Jake Goss was recently added to the band to play drums for their summer tour. Jars of Clay's style is a blend of alternative rock, folk, acoustic, and R&B.

Jason Mraz was born on June 23 in 1977. He is an American singer-songwriter, born and raised in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Mraz's stylistic influences include reggae, pop, rock, folk, jazz, and hip hop.

Mraz released his debut album, Waiting for My Rocket to Come, which contained the hit single "The Remedy (I Won't Worry)", in 2002 but it was not until the release of his second album, Mr. A-Z that Mraz achieved commercial success. The album peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 200 and sold over one hundred thousand copies in the US. In 2008, Mraz released his third studio album, We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things.. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 was a commercial success worldwide, peaking in the top ten of many international charts.

Mraz's international breakthrough came with the release of lead single from We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. titled "I'm Yours". Fall Out Boy

Arctic Monkeys

Arctic Monkeys are an English alternative rock band from High Green, a suburb of Sheffield, England. Alter Bridge

Alter Bridge is an American rock band based in Orlando, Florida. The band was formed in 2004 by then-former members of Creed, Mark Tremonti (lead guitar, vocals), Brian Marshall (bass) and Scott Phillips (drums), with Myles Kennedy (lead vocals, lead and rhythm guitar), formerly of The Mayfield Four. Kennedy, Tremonti, Phillips and Marshall started a new band and soon after juggling a few names, settled on the moniker Alter Bridge, which was named after a bridge in Detroit near Tremonti's home on Alter Road. The bridge led to a bad side of town and the neighborhood children were not allowed to cross because of this. Thus, according to Tremonti, the name of the band symbolizes going over into the unknown and starting something new.

Alter Bridge released their debut album, One Day Remains, in August 2004, followed by their second album, Blackbird, in October 2007. Both of those were highly successful. In January 2010, the band announced that 17 songs for a third album have been finished and that the band is writing even more material.

POETS OF THE FALL- TWILIGHT THEATER REVIEW

I have to hand it to Poets of the Fall--there’s no band quite like them. Their basis is a mainstream-oriented, pop-rock sound, yes, but if there’s one thing the Finnish sextet appear to hate more than anything, it’s being labeled. Their debut, Signs of Life, was an impressive collection of acoustic pop a la Guster’s deranged, foreign twin of sorts, and granted them a fair amount of notoriety in their homeland. However, frontman Marko Saaresto and company refused to pigeonhole themselves, following it up with an artsy, one-level-short-of-insanity pop rock album (Carnival of Rust) and returning as an electric-guitar-oriented rockier version of themselves on 2008’s Revolution Roulette. Even with the band’s constant metamorphoses, it appeared that the latter direction was bound to be permanent--for one, the record contained some of their best songs to date, but also displayed a maddening sense of consistency. It appeared the Poets were stuck in a sweet spot, satisfied to be an above-the-cut pop-rock band churning out hits for Finnish radio without too much effort.

When the lead single for the band’s latest effort, Twilight Theater, was released, it did little to dispel this notion. “Dreaming Wide Awake” was a dreamy (surprise!), midtempo cut that found a niche somewhere in between the Poets’ last two albums. It had just enough spark, as always, to keep the band soaring above their contemporaries, but it seemed as if TT would be yet another dose of typical Poets.

Thankfully, Twilight Theater is basically the textbook definition of a band building upon their potential. The band describes the record as “cinematic rock,” and that’s as accurate of a description as one can offer. “War” is the first sign of the Poets’ maturity, an emotional five-minute track that epically builds up to heights previously left untouched by the band. Saaresto gives one of his best vocal performances of his career as the song alternates between an acoustic, crooning verse and a grand, explosive chorus in which he belts “When I thought that I fought this war alone/you were there by my side on the front line.” The band’s flair for the dramatic continues with the equally incendiary and orchestral “15 Min Flame,” resulting in two of the most creative, if not best songs they’ve written.

The Poets haven’t lost their acoustic and pop sensibilities either--“Change” is a delightfully optimistic waltz, and Saaresto’s soothing baritone vocals combine with piano fuel the low-key “Given and Denied.” While the midsection of the record tends to drag a bit once the tempo begins to slow, the poppy, riff paradise of “Dying to Live” snaps the band out of their slump almost instantly. “Smoke and Mirrors” is equally engaging, playing true to its title as it operates on serpentine guitar lines from Olli Tuklainen.

It's too often we write off a band's potential after a few albums in which they fail to live up to it, but it's rare that we're ever proven wrong in making such an assumption. This is what makes Twilight Theater such a refreshing listen--Poets of the Fall have made the largest creative leap of their career, finally living up to the vast potential they displayed throughout their first three releases. Twilight Theater is without a doubt one of the catchiest, hook-filled records you'll hear in 2010, as as far as pop rock goes, it may even be one of the best.

Justin Bieber

Justin Drew Bieber was born on March 1, 1994 is a Canadian pop/R&B singer. His performances were seen on YouTube by Scooter Braun, who later became his manager. Braun flew Bieber to Atlanta, Georgia, to consult with Usher. He soon was signed to a joint venture between Braun and Usher called Raymond-Braun Music Group, and then with L.A. Reid and Island Def Jam.

His breakthrough single, "One Time", was released in the summer of 2009, and charted within the top thirty in over ten countries. It was followed up by his debut release, My World on November 17, 2009, which received positive reviews and was certified platinum in the United States, which at the time gave Bieber the highest debut by a new artist in the year, and made Bieber the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album chart on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. His first full studio release, My World 2.0 was released on March 23, 2010, and was preceded by the international hit, "Baby." He will embark on his first headlining tour, My World Tour in summer 2010.

Bieber was named the hottest star of 2009 by J-14, newcomer of the year by MuchMusic, and listed by Celebuzz as one of the Top 10 YouTube stars of the 2000s decade.

New Radicals

New Radicals were an American rock band active in the late 1990s, centered on frontman Gregg Alexander, who wrote and produced all of their songs and was the sole constant member. They released one album, 1998's Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too, an alternative album heavily influenced by the rock and soul of the 1970s, containing—among radio-friendly modern rock tracks and love songs—strong criticism of corporate America.

The band is best known for their debut single "You Get What You Give", which became a top 5 hit in the United Kingdom and whose lyrics, which insulted celebrities at the end of the song, provided a minor media spectacle. Tired of touring and promotional interviews, Alexander disbanded the group in mid-1999 before the release of their second single, "Someday We'll Know", to focus on writing and producing songs for other artists. As a result, "Someday We'll Know" received little attention in most countries and the band is widely considered a one-hit wonder. "Someday We'll Know" did however go on to be covered by Hall & Oates on their 2003 album Do It For Love.

The single, based on the bass line and lyrical "association" of the 1961 hit "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King, reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks and topped the UK Singles Chart along with many other international charts. Similarly, the song "Me Love" is a loose derivative work of Led Zeppelin's "D'yer Mak'er", from their 1973 album Houses of the Holy. The song also debuted at number one in Australia, where it knocked off Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry", which had been at number one for nine weeks. The song stayed on the Canadian Hot 100 number one spot for over six weeks before getting knocked down to third place by the Plain White T's. Chris Brown

Christopher Maurice "Chris" Brown (born May 5, 1989) is an American recording artist and actor. He made his recording debut in late 2005 with the self-titled album Chris Brown at the age of 16. The album featured the hit single "Run It!", which topped the Billboard Hot 100, making Brown the first male artist since Montell Jordan to have his debut single top the chart in 1995. The album has sold over two million copies in the United States and was certified double Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Brown's second studio album, Exclusive was released worldwide in November 2007. It spawned two successful singles; his second U.S. number one hit, "Kiss Kiss" featuring T-Pain and "With You", which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. Brown has released a deluxe version of his album called the The Forever Edition. The first single from it, "Forever", was released in May 2008 and reached number two on Billboard Hot 100. Exclusive has been certified Platinum by the RIAA.
